Milk has been a hot topic in the last few years, with more people looking at dairy substitutes to limit the amount of dairy in their diet. While this is a personal choice, I always like to share recipes that everyone of you can use. Whether you have an intolerance to dairy or you prefer not to have it for other reasons, that doesn’t mean creamy smoothies have to be off the menu for you completely! There are so many different ways to enjoy smoothies, from milk alternatives to using coconut water as a base. To get that lovely thick texture, you can simply add frozen banana to get a little flavor and a delicious creamy consistency.

I know that some of you love getting in the kitchen and playing around with different ingredients, so I am sure you are going to love these recipes. You’ll see that dairy-free smoothies are anything but boring.

Tropical Green Smoothie

Ingredients (1 smoothie):
– 1 medium cucumber
– 170g frozen pineapple
– ½ frozen medium banana
– 1 large handful baby spinach leaves
– 200ml coconut water
– 1 tsp lime zest
– 2 tbsp lime juice
– 1 tbsp chia seeds
– 2-4 ice cubes

Preparation:
1. Place all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth
2. To serve, pour into a glass or jar
3. Enjoy

Blueberry Acai Smoothie

Ingredients (1 smoothie):
– 90g frozen blueberries
– ½ frozen medium banana
– 2 tbsp rolled oats
– 1 tsp acai powder
– ½ tbsp almond butter
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 200ml almond milk
– 1 tsp pure maple syrup
– 2-4 ice cubes

Preparation:
1. Place all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth
2. To serve, pour into a glass or jar
3. Enjoy

Choc-Banana Protein Smoothie

Ingredients (1 smoothie):
– 200ml almond milk
– 2 tbsp rolled oats
– 1 frozen medium banana
– 1 tbsp peanut butter
– 1 tbsp cacao powder
– 1 tbsp chocolate protein powder (optional)
– 1 tsp pure maple syrup
– ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
– 2-4 ice cubes
– cacao nibs, to garnish (optional)

Preparaition:
1. Place all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth
2. To serve, pour into a glass or jar and sprinkle with the cacao nibs, if desired
3. Enjoy
